Webinar: Multimodal Imaging of Cellular Senescence
Dr. Florian Gruber, MUW, summarizes current knowledge on cell senescence in skin and presents new research from the
SKINMAGINE lab,
focusing on aging in tissues using multimodal imaging. Christopher Kremslehner demonstrates how the
TissueFAXS imaging platform and StrataQuest can be used to investigate age-related changes in cell distribution and morphology.

Advanced Imaging Reveals Why Some Breast Cancers Resist Treatment
The majority of breast cancer tumors are of the hormone receptor-positive subtype; however, not all patients benefit from standard tamoxifen therapy. A new study suggests that the loss of FRMD8 may explain tamoxifen resistance. The team used the TissueFAXS slide scanner to image biopsies and StrataQuest software
to quantify the expression of ERα and PR in CK8+ epithelium.

Book Chapter: Artificial Intelligence in Head and Neck Cancer
A book chapter in Navigating Head and Neck Cancer: Advances in Diagnosis and Treatment, edited by Prof. Zodwa Dlamini, reviews the applications of AI in the management of head and neck cancer and discusses the limitations. Dr. Rupert Ecker, CEO of TissueGnostics, contributed to the chapter by highlighting the use of tissue cytometry in researching novel biomarkers.

Calcium-Sensing Receptor as a Novel Target for the Treatment of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis
A research team from Cardiff University explored the role of calcium/cation-sensing receptor (CaSR) signaling in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), showing that CaSR contributes to pro-fibrotic responses in human lung fibroblasts.
The study employed StrataQuest image analysis software for automated quantifications of pro-fibrotic markers implicated in IPF.
