TissueFAXS PLUS is an upright fluorescence and brightfileld system for the scanning and analysis of slides, cytospins, smears and Tissue Microarrays. The system is equipped with TissueQuest/HistoQuest or StrataQuest PLUS image analysis solftware.

Scan Only icon 40 TF PLUS is also available in a Scan Only configuration.

Upgrade icon 50 TF PLUS can be upgraded to the TF Confocal configuration.

Upgrade icon 50 TF PLUS can be upgraded with the FL Speed packages.

TissueFAXS PLUS is the most versatile configuration of all TG upright systems.

It can scan and analyse samples on slides and slide-based sample containers in both brightfield and epiflurescence modes. It can be equipped with supplementary components for contrast microscopy methods, like Differential interference contrast (DIC) microscopy in brightfield. It scans 10 channels in epifluorescence if the maximum of 10 single bandpass filters is fitted or more if multibandpass filters are used.

Upgrade icon 50 Upgrading your TissueFAXS PLUS

Customizing your TissueFAXS PLUS with different or more objectives will not be considered as an upgrade within the scope of this article (of course, TG Sales and TG support are always ready to advise you on these subjects).

The same applies if special system configurations for non-standard tasks are required.

As the TissueFAXS PLUS system already is equipped for high speed brightfield scanning, TG only offers two upgrades for this system configuration:

  1. Spinning Disc Confocality
  2. High Speed Epifluorescence Scanning

 

Spinning Disc Confocality

The Spinning Disc Upgrade Kit contains all the hardware necessary for upgrading an epifluorescence TissueFAXS system to Spinning Disc Confocal capability:

  • Crest Optics X-Light V.2 Spinning Disc Unit - a versatile, high tech, yet affordable Spinning Disc Device
  • Lumencor Spectra-X Light Engine - Top of the line illumination system with the output necessary for confocal scanning
  • Zyla 5.5. or Hamamatsu Orca Flash 4.0 V.3 fast 4K camera - for rapid scanning of the high number of images in optical sectioning

Upgrading any TissueFAXS system to Confocal capability maintains all other scanning modes (.i.e. brightfield and epifluorescence) the system already has.

 

High Speed Epifluorescence Scanning

The High Speed Epifluorescence Upgrade Kit contains all the hardware necessary for upgrading an epifluorescence TissueFAXS system:

  • Lumencor Spectra-X Light Engine - Top of the line illumination system with the output necessary for confocal scanning
  • Zyla 5.5. or Hamamatsu Orca Flash 4.0 V.3 fast 4K camera - for rapid scanning of the high number of images in optical sectioning
  • Multibandpass filter(s)

The largest speed increase is obtained by using all three components, however a lesser speed increase can also be obtained by just combining the Light engine and the Multibandpass filter(s).
