TissueFAXS i Fluo is an inverted fluorescence system for the scanning and analysis of slides, cytospins, smears and Tissue Microarrays. The system is equipped with TissueQuest or StrataQuest Fluo image analysis software.

Scan Only icon 40 TF i Fluo is also available in a Scan Only configuration.

Upgrade icon 50 TF i Fluo can be upgraded to the TF PLUS configuration.

TissueFAXS i Fluo is TGs inverse epifluorescence system.

It can scan and analyse samples on slides, in microtiter plates and in Petri dishes in epiflurescence mode. It scans 6 channels in epifluorescence if the maximum of 6 single bandpass filters is fitted or more if multibandpass filters are used.

The system comes equipped with an 8-slide stage which can also also take a microtiter plate insert as an alternative. Inserts for Petri dishes and custom inserts for other sample containers are available on demand.

Objectives from all Zeiss objective classes with M24 thread can be fitted, the turret takes a maximum of 6.

TissueFAXS Scanning and Management software integrates all the hardware components into an easy to use workflow with full, walk-away automation capabilities.

Live Imaging

TissueFAXS i Fluo supports Live Imaging, as do all other inverse stand-based configurations.

CO2, O2 and temperature control modules are available, as is the choice of small stage top incubators (see above image) or conventional incubation enclosures.

The environment controls are not integrated into the TissueFAXS control software (being usually set for longer time periods) and can be controlled via the microscopes touch screen (visible to the right of the oculars).

The TissueFACS control software provides time lapse scanning.

Customizing your TissueFAXS i Fluo with different or more objectives will not be considered as an upgrade within the scope of this article (of course, TG Sales and TG support are always ready to advise you on these subjects).

The same applies if special system configurations for non-standard tasks are required.

An upgrade to a TissueFAXS i PLUS system involves adding and integrating the following components for brightfield scanning:

  • The brightfield optical axis
  • A manual condenser
  • A second camera port
  • A Pixelink M-4 brigthfield camera
  • A VIS-LED brightfield light source

Spinning Disc Confocality

The Spinning Disc Upgrade Kit contains all the hardware necessary for upgrading an epifluorescence TissueFAXS system to Spinning Disc Confocal capability:

  • Lumencor Spectra-X Light Engine - Top of the line illumination system with the output necessary for confocal scanning

Upgrading any TissueFAXS system to Confocal capability maintains all other scanning modes (.i.e. brightfield and epifluorescence) the system already has.

 

High Speed Epifluorescence Scanning

The High Speed Epifluorescence Upgrade Kit contains all the hardware necessary for upgrading an epifluorescence TissueFAXS system:

  • Lumencor Spectra-X Light Engine - Top of the line illumination system with the output necessary for confocal scanning
  • Zyla 5.5. or Hamamatsu Orca Flash 4.0 V.3 fast 4K camera - for rapid scanning of the high number of images in optical sectioning
  • Multibandpass filter(s)

The largest speed increase is obtained by using all three components, however a lesser speed increase can also be obtained by just combining the Light engine and the Multibandpass filter(s).
