TissueFAXS - The equivalent to flow cytometry in tissue

The automated workstation for fluorescence. TissueFAXS is the optimal choice for scanning and analysis of samples in the fluorescence mode and this with up to 10 different channels and at by using any objective of choice. The combination of high quality microscopes (Zeiss, Leica, Nikon), fast computer hardware and high-resolution screens with TissueFAXS scanning software and TissueQuest analysis software brings automation into your lab. TissueFAXS is the equivalent to flow cytometry in tissue.

The newly developed TissueFAXS is a unique instrument of cell analysis that combines detailed morphologic information offered by microscopy with the scientific accuracy of multi-channel flow cytometry offers:

TissueFAXS unique features

    • Automated multi-channel image acquisition
    • Automated identification of cells in tissue and smears
    • Individual regions of interest (ROI) definable by graphical tools
    • Automated single cell detection by patented algorithms
    • Suitable for cryocut and paraffin sections, cell cultures, TMA's and smears
    • Forward Gating from the individual cell in the image to the dot in the scattergram
    • Backward Gating from the individual dot or gate to the corresponding cells in the sample
    • DotPlot operations – analysis of the image processing results via gating and additional DotPlots
    • Histograms and overlays
    • Statistical data in tables and export in Excel as well as ASCII formats

TissueFAXS Workflow

Unprecedented reliability in analyzing and diagnosing cells in tissue and smears

TissueFAXS is a high tech system offering automated routines for comprehensive procedures. Still, its handling is remarkably simple.

TissueFAXS Cell Identification

Automated workflow

The TissueFAXS management and acquisition software combines an intuitive and user friendly interface and a comfortable workflow with extensive control functions.

TissueFAXS is a combination of high-end hardware modules (Zeiss, Leica or Nikon-based) and two software modules:

    • TissueFAXS image acquisition and data management module.
    • TissueQuest analysis module for immunofluorescence stainings (stand alone use possible).

TissueFAXS provides a smooth, automated workflow from image acquisition to publication quality, output of graphs and images, as well as customizable data export for further processing.

TissueFAXS Statistics

TissueFAXS Tissue Microarray

Tissue Microarray (TMA) module is fully integrated in the TissueFAXS system. Acquisition is handled in the TissueFAXS software while the analysis is done in the TissueQuest Analysis Software.

TMA Core detection

TMA spots are identified on a slide preview obtained by a low magnification scan. Acquisition can be made automatically, with manual adjustment or semi-manually by projecting TMA block patterns and doing comprehensive block operations. Each spot is given its individual ID based upon identification. Missing spots are still recognized based on block matrix.

TMA Groups

Logical groups can be drawn and named on the preview image, thus providing one possible basis for later analysis. After acquisition, the project is ready for analysis.

TMA Analysis

TMA projects are opened in TissueQuest. Logical groups are shown in TissueQuest Input Region list and are analyzed as one sample.

TMA spots not in logical groups are displayed separately in this list under their spot ID. They can be analyzed individually.
After analysis, results can be exported to Excel sheets to be linked with metadata for further examination.
A browser-type TMA explorer and a report generator completes the TMA functionalities.
